Should I start a Mu Alpha Theta chapter in my school?

<p>I believe that my high school meets all of the eligibility requirements for a Mu Alpha Theta chapter.</p>

<p>Should I ask my calculus teacher to serve as a sponsor of the organization? I've a good relationship with her, and I am the only freshman she's ever taught in her decades of teaching calculus.</p>

<p>Would it look good on my college app if I start one and become president of it? My school is a large public one near the city.</p>

<p>Another thing I'm asking is if I'll have more competitors if I start one here... Some of the kids here are craaazy, and they're making higher grades than me in their honors alg 2 classes.</p>

<p>I don’t know much about Mu Alpha Theta, but you might want to do things like ARML or the AMC tests.</p>
