Should I start french?

So my school has a maximum of 42 periods, I'm taking AP Chem, Bio, Eng, Math, AP Latin, AP Hist. I want to increase my Gpa, should I take French 1 H (easy A) or should I take 2 honors semester courses? Or should I take neither and really concentrate on my classes for junior year?

I say you perpetuate the cess pool of a system we have that has so wonderfully prompted you to iterate the phrase "I want to increase my GPA" rather than "I want to learn".

Rant aside, if you think you can handle an honors class enough to get an A, take it. If not, take the easy A. If you've taken another language before Senior year, it will look impressive. If you haven't then it might not. I think the best option would be to call up a college and see exactly how they like their applicant's packaged :D.

do you mean you'd have to add an extra course in order to take french? if so, don't do it. it'll just be more work, no matter how easy. concentrate on the classes you're in.

I think that if you want to take french than you should take it for the right reasons. If you want to because you are fasinated with the culture and amazed by how beautiful the langauge sounds, then go for it and you'll likely enjoy it.

But just to take it to increase your GPA will just make it another thing to do on your already long list. It will become tedious and a waste of time if you are only doing it to pad your GPA and do not intend to follow through and continue learning it.

only take french if the course intrests you. if not then its a waste if time, even if it will increase your GPA.
