Should I start self studying algebra 2 until summer and take pre calc online for the summer?

Hey guys, I’m a freshman taking geometry right now. Currently have an A in the class and got an A last semester as well (I find the class really easy).
Last year in algebra 1 I got straight A’s as well.
Would it be a good idea to self study alg 2 until summer starts and then take a pre calc course online for the summer? I’d really like to take AP calc AB next year. Would it even be possible for me to self study in time? Do I need a textbook? If so, which one would you recommend, and how many hours a day should I study? I don’t really have a busy schedule this year (hardest class I’m taking right now is AP human geo).
Thanks

What would you take junior and senior year? Skipping two levels of math strikes me as a bad idea.

AP calc BC then multivariate calc or AP stats

It is a bad idea if you build a bad foundation. Moving up in math is not worth it if you won’t have a strong foundation when taking these higher level math.

As someone who has experience with this kind of thing: eeeh. Algebra 2 is very doable, but I would /not/ recommend moving two grades up between freshman and sophomore years. Going back to strengthen your problem solving skills should be a higher priority; there’s so much you can do with geometry alone!

I actually made a thread about racing to Calc, and some really great people have put stuff forward
