Should I stay at a State fratocracy or follow my dreams at a city college?

Hey everyone. I'm currently a student at SUNY Binghamton. I used to be a student at the Citadel Military College but I just didn't have the coordination for it so I dropped out after two weeks. After taking the semester off I went to Binghamton and I just don't like the Frat cesspool atmosphere here. I'd like to be
a private detective and like being politically active and both of thoose goals would be better in new York City. but CUNY John Jay is a big academic drop from Binghamton but it better suits my intrests and career goals. I could use some advice.

I’ve taught at several of the CUNY colleges so I’m knowledgable about them. John Jay is a great college if you want to do criminal justice, forensics or police science, maybe public administration. For other majors, you would be better off at one of the other CUNY colleges. Brooklyn and Queens are probably the best, Hunter is good also. Baruch for business.

One thing you should be aware of is that there is almost no campus social life at the CUNY colleges. Students socialize mostly with their high school friends and the private colleges in NYC are not welcoming toward non-students

.Of course, there are few dorms at CUNY colleges so you’ll be renting an apartment in the most expensive city in the US…

Most private investigators were cops first so if you’re serious about this career you probably want to explore that route. I do not know if majoring in police science would help you get a jobs as a cop. If I were you I would ask police departments first. Some departments may not want their applicants to have training elsewhere.
