Should I stay in Key Club?

I joined key club at my school and recently went to the first meeting, and am thinking about dropping out. Most of the people there are the “popular kids” who just want to put key club on their college resume, which also probably won’t allow me to get voted into an officer position. I am already in 4 clubs, half of which I could possibly get an officer position, but I don’t know if I should stay because I hear that Key club looks good on college apps (idk if this is true for those who aren’t officers).

Thank you in advance

edit: am a freshman

You are wise for seeing through the high school club façade, that they are mostly for the popular students who want to pad their list of ECs. I doubt that colleges care more about key club than grades, test scores, essays or letters of recommendation.

What does key club do? Do you like the activities?
I would consider sticking around for this year and meet new people and do the service. Then decide if you want to continue.

Key club is a (“nationally recognized”) community service club. People in the club request certain activities or fundraisers they want to hold/participate in for certain charities. You have to participate in a certain number of events each year to stay in the club, and get community service hours for the events that you go to.
