Should I stay in Liberal Arts/General studies or should I switch to biology next year?

Hi! Let me start by saying thanks for reading this little issue I’m having!
It’s my first year of Community College and I’m enjoying it so far a little overwhelming and a bit of getting used to but I’m adapting well I say. I have been stuck on what to do though I’m right now just doing general studies but I really hate the GEs I understand that no matter the major you have to take GEs. But if I was to switch to Biology which is what I want to do I’ll have way more enjoyable classes and I hope to meet people who share similar interested plus they’re scholarships for STEM majors only at my CC. I also think it looks better for transferring. But I’m not sure what is your experience and what advice can you guys give me? Thanks all have an amazing day!!!

I plan on switching next year since I have to take 2 require math classes as a Pre-Req for Biology.

I think if you want to transfer then you should. It really important to be interested in what you study.

You don’t have to take all of your General Education requirement classes up front. If you are interested in pursuing a Biology major, then get started on the Math prerequisites, and then take the initial Chemistry and Biology courses. This will hopefully prove to be more satisfying and help you feel like you are making real progress toward a degree.
