should i stay or should i go?

I am a freshman this fall and i am thinking about tranfering for next semester. I feel as if i am not fitting in here and I'm from a small town and this campus is huge. I don't like living in the dorms and since I am 12 hours from home it would be difficult to get an apartment. Another thing is that i was involved in sports all year long in high school. I really miss playing. Since i am at such a big school, all of the athletes are recruited and theres usually no opportunity for walk ons. The school I am considering transfering to, i was accepted to last year and i was recruited to play volleyball. I am somewhat homesick, but right now that's not my biggest issue.
What do you think?

You have to ask yourself this question: Why did I choose this school over that one?

What did you like about the school you go to now that made you choose it a few months back? What made it so you chose A over B? Consider this and evaluate.

If what you can get at the school B (major, area of study, activities) matches what you are currently getting at school A, by all means transfer out.

But let me tell you this. Being homesick shouldn’t be a valid reason (even if minimal) to want to transfer. Being away from home is just a part of life, a way to gain life experiences, and learn more about yourself. It also seems as though you may not have made any new friends/don’t have any past friends at your current school (i.e. don’t like dorms).

Does your dorm have any intramural teams? What about club teams on campus. If you look around, you should be able to find lots of opportunities to participate in the sports you enjoy.
