Hey guys! I'm a sophomore ( class of 2016) at a "public-Ivy" and I had a rough freshman year. I ended with a 3.1 and a C+ in Chem 1 & a D in Chem 2, all of my other grades were A's + B's. I retook Chem 2 at my university this summer, worked really hard, and got an A-, and I'm taking Physics 1 now and am lined up to get an A. I struggled a lot over the year because of issues at home (excuses, excuses, I know) but regardless, I'm definitely more focused and am determined that I can improve my grades this year (I've already covered the first chapter in my orgo text book). But many people are telling me that my chances of getting into med school are pretty slim, even if I boost my GPA/score well on the MCAT. What do you guys think?

Thanks!
