I'm currently a junior and this year I'm taking AP Language, AP World, AP Physics, AP Calculus BC, Hon Spanish 4, Jazz Band and Newspaper. Next year I was thinking about taking Multivariable Calculus (is that a good decision?) which would take up my entire afternoon. On top of that, I will take AP Literature and AP US History. For my last two periods, would it be worth it, in terms of college admissions, to take Newspaper and maybe be an editor and then take an honors science (AP Physics is the only single period AP science my school offers), or take double period AP Bio or Chem?

Stick with Newspaper if you really enjoy it (you might also get a position as an editor of some sort).

Depends. It would be excellent to continue Newspaper and become an editor, but what are the sciences you will have already taken by end of junior year? AP Physics this year, and what sciences freshman and sophomore years? Some of the very top schools such as Harvard recommend four years of science: chemistry, physics, biology, and a year of advanced work in one of these three sciences.

I took physics as a freshman and double period biology/chemistry as a sophomore

Sounds to me as if by the end of junior year you will have had a year each of chem, bio, and physics. If so, you’re free to choose between the two science options you described; either would give you a year (or more, in the case of the second choice you mentioned) of advanced work in a science. However, I can’t tell how important an EC Newspaper is to your record without knowing what your other ECs are and how important Newspaper is to YOU.
