Should I still apply for QuestBridge given my socioeconomic background?

I am a strong academic candidate, but my family's financial background is what worries me. I have been raised in a middle-upper class family all my life. We still live in a middle-upper class home, but until this past year, my family started struggling financially and our income for 2010 was <40,000...likely the same for 2011. We are however, very slowly starting to get better.

So should I still apply for QuestBridge given my family's recent decline in income--and taking into account that my family's assets will be much higher than other low income families?

Thanks for the help.

Have your parents got the assets to pay for all/part of your college education? If so then you don’t really need questbridge, and the spot would be better off taken by someone who needs it more. If so, then go for it.
