It's for Classics 36B. I took Classics 36A and I enjoyed it a lot and I was hoping to continue the courses throughout the year but it's already waitlisted and the discussion sections are full. I was going to waitlist and hopefully get in once people drop, so is it a good idea to attend the lecture? Also, I'm not sure how it works for the discussion section since they are already full. Do I have to wait to enroll in those when they say OPEN since there is no waitlist option?

I suggest you wait until classes actually do start, and see how many people drop prior to that; often you will see some/many people be dropped from from their classes by the second enrollment window.
I suggest anyone to attend lecture that they are waitlisted for if they are in the top 10 spots, but what do I know, I’m just another freshman :D

For the discussions, if its full, I suggest you either talk to the professor or TA’s about that when classes start.

During the adjustment period (Dec. 18), there probably will be people who are going to get dropped because of some reason so you will be able to move up the waitlist and possibly even out of it. In any case, try going to the lecture and see what the professor says. Some people might drop within those first two weeks. If there’s nothing he/she can do about it, I guess you’re out of luck and you can always try taking it again next quarter.

go to the class. tell the prof you are staying in the class until they let you in. it works.
