Should I stop caring about CR?

I want to focus on Math and Writing.

My CR score is better than I could have hoped for from practice tests, and is almost maxed out, so it's where I want it. Should I practice for it at all, or just focus on M and W? I'm sure my score might drop a little bit in CR, but is it really worth spending more time working on it?

no. if you did well first time in CR, you should concentrate on raising your other scores (esp math) because colleges only look at your TOP scores from EACH sat you take and add the seperate ones to be your "final" score.

example --
test #1 800CR 600M 800W
test #2 720CR 800M 800W

so your actual sat score they use in the admit process would be a 1600 ;) (800CR + 800M)

i saw your post in the other topic, and you have the same sat score as me! :) good luck in raising it, i'll be trying too haha

The most notable exception to this that I am aware of is the University of California. They want the best total score from one sitting. :-(

Ah okay.

And hail to the 2200s!

Murasaki: Your previous CR score is quite adorable. Even if this time it drops a little bit ( 750 as you guess in your other post ), it's still fabulous. So, I think you should focus more on WR and Maths. Hence, colleges always look at your highest score, so your 770 remains intact :D
Anyway, how can you achieve such outstanding CR score ? I'm really dazzled ;)

yeah most universities would look at your "best" score, but public school's like the UC's want scores from a sitting...
