Hi, I’m applying to Brown and talk about photography (taking senior portraits and being photographer for school newspaper & yearbook) in my Common App and supplements. I think logically I should submit an arts portfolio with some of my photographs because I mention it so much, however I have not taken a photography class at school (other than intro) and do not have any photography competition awards. Would submitting an arts supplement hurt my chances of getting in/Should I think more carefully about submitting one to Brown?
IMO an arts supplement would only be helpful if it is of extraordinarily high quality. It is perfectly fine to let your activities speak for themselves.
