I am applying EA at Yale? Should I submit both fafsa and css? Does it matter which one I submit first?

Only if you want to get financial aid. Yale requires both. It doesn’t matter in which order you submit them as long as they’re both there before the deadlines.

Yale deadline is Nov. 1st for EA. However, fafsa is only available on Jan.1st. What should I do?

You should contact the Yale financial aid office. They should have a very clear process and deadlines.

My recollection is for EA/ED students is you submit the Profile around November with estimated numbers, the FAFSA as early as possible with estimated numbers, and then you revise the FAFSA once you have completed your 2007 tax returns.

You submit the Profile (plus, if required, the Non-custodial Profile and the Business Supplement) and your parents’ 2006 tax returns by November 1.

You submit the FAFSA when it becomes available, and update it as Dadx4 said.

Thanks Dadx4 and Chedva!
