Should I Submit Both My ACT and SAT?

Hi,
I'll be applying to colleges in the fall, and I have some questions about exam scores.
The schools I've chosen vary a lot in terms of scores and acceptance rates, so I have thrown a couple ivies (which I'm visiting this summer) into the mix.
Anyway, my current SAT score is a 2070
(690 reading,
630 math,
750 writing),
and I was planning to get a tutor and take it again in the fall because the first and only time I took it was with absolutely no preparation. My SAT twos were a 700 bio-m and a 770 chem (I know, they're awful, my IB bio teacher is a real piece of work and I wasnt as prepared as I hoped).
I just got my ACT scores back and I got a
35 composite,
35 english
34 math
36 science
36 reading
So, I'm at a loss for what to do. I know that my ACT scores are much better, but will it be seen as bad if I only submit them and not my SATs? In my town, everyone does better on the ACT (okay few people get a 35, but still), and it's just not seen as the same caliber of exam or as accurate and difficult as the SAT. Should I take the SAT again and see? Or is it not worth paying for a tutor and all that it I have the ACT they're looking for?

You realize there’s not a single college on this planet that will see your ACT 35 and reject you because of that, right? Certainly you may not be accepted but it won’t be because you’ve not shown your academic potential. The idea that you might want a tutor in order to best your ACT with a better SAT is mind-boggling. You’re better spending the day weeding your mom’s garden or just watching a baseball game. Congrats on your super ACT achievement. You’re done (unless you intend on applying to some schools that require SAT IIs).

First of all, what’s wrong with your 780 in the SAT2 Chem? How is that awful. You really lose credibility when you make remarks like that. your SAT2 scores are fine, and your ACT scores are about as good as it gets. What do you really think is the reasonable thing to do?

If the ACT was with writing, submit only the ACT but not the SAT I for schools that want either. If the ACT was without writing, you could take it again with writing, but don’t take the SAT I again. If you are applying to schools that want 2 SAT II subject tests, you should take one more test but not in a science (e.g. math, lit, history or language) and submit that result with your chemistry score.

Sorry to have offended anyone, I was mostly worried about my Bio score, not chem. Anyway, I’m just a little confused about the ACT. Will it be seen as bad that I am submitting ACT instead of SAT?

Absolutely NOT!!!

But is a 35 even that great? I know some people at not as high caliber colleges that got similar scores. I’m just a little confused about what it means.

35 is definitely in the 99% percentile. Not all 2400/36 range students go to “top” selective colleges.

Not at all seen as a negative to just send ACT scores. The colleges view the SAT and ACT as equal.
