Should I submit the art supplement?

I know there is a lot of discussion on whether or not someone should submit an art supplement, and it seems that the consensus is to submit it only if it is "good enough." Just give your honest opinion on if I should submit my stuff. I'm applying to Barnard and Columbia.

Here is a link to the art: http://writingparabatai.tumblr.com/post/106369209238

Thanks :)

I can’t answer your question, but I really like your skeleton flower picture.

edit: I think it shows personality, and I personally like it. Then again, I really don’t know because I’m not an Adcom.

edit number 2: Maybe make sure the Adcoms won’t think you’re a depressed child. That’s a vibe I got from the tumblr.

@CeLce haha thanks :slight_smile:

And yeah, I am just scared it’s not good enough. These are my best pieces, though.

@CeLce Yeah I am definitely NOT a depressed child but I like to make art inspired out of strong emotions and it comes across as dark and dreary, but I think my application essays emphasize my passions and my motivations and how I am driven to help other people. I don’t mention depression in it anywhere, haha. But thanks that is a good point!

Look, chances are, your admissions officer won’t be an art history major. So it will be a common joe such as myself that doesn’t really know much about art, like me And looking at your pieces, they’re good. It adds more to your application.

“Depressed child”? Really? No that’s not the impression I get or anyone reasonable should get. Is the art darker? Yes. Is the world all sunshine and flowers? No.

Sorry for my statement on “depressed” part, I decided too quickly.

I spoke from personal experience and a friend I knew.
