Heres my situation:
When i just got out of high school, I was a psychology major and took a few classes. I ended up working and dropped out of college. A year ago, I went back and decided to pursue a Kinesiology major in order to prep myself for Physical Therapy school.
Fast forward…
Now it is time to apply for schools this Fall.
I went to see my counselor and I am short of Physiology class that requires two prereqs that I was not able to get in time. To make the story short, I need this class in order to get an associates degree. I was told that without an associates degree, my chances may be hurt as far as transferring out. In my moment of stress and sadness, I looked up what it takes to get an associates in Psychology and thanks to the old classes at my older community college, I can get an AA in Psychology within my next semester.
SO MY QUESTIONS ARE…
Should I just change my major to psychology and get the AA and transfer through a psychology major ? Lately I have been thinking about what I wanted to do and I feel like there are more doors that can be open with a psychology major. I know a Kinesiology major will have me take many of the classes that are required to get into a Physical Therapy school, but I am unsure if that is what I truly want to do now…
I want to get out of the community college system as soon as possible and I’m not sure if it would be better for me to apply under a Kinesiology major without an associates or to apply under a psycholgy major with an associates.
Thanks for all your help, its greatly appreciated!!
