I'm a senior and my grades are As and Bs with a 1950 SAT. I've always took honors/AP classes but I didn't try my hardest in some classes and only got Bs and even a few Cs.

My school's scheduling and credits system is dumb, it's a very small school. We have block scheduling and I was thinking of finishing up the first semester at my school and for the last semester of high school, switching to cyber school where I can take more classes (you can only take 4 classes a semester at my school and I want more credits) at my own pace and add to my GPA. I'll also be taking 4 AP tests this spring.

Is this plan too ambitious? I wish I hadn't been so inconsistent with my grades in the past. :(
would this look better for colleges?

I want to show colleges I can do better in math and foreign language than I did two years ago. My school schedule doesn't have room to add more classes.

This semester I will definitely have all As so that will boost my GPA for sure.

Thanks :)

Looks we’re in the same boat!

I have a 1950 SAT as well and my grades are around yours. The answer to your question, in my opinion, is yes. I mean that’s what I ended up doing. I got a bad grade in math my freshmen year, it’s now my senior year and I’m retaking it on cyber higher to boost my GPA. If you have the money, it cost like 90 bucks at my school, I would consider it!

You can’t take cyber classes outside of school and get credit. I would have to withdraw from my high school to get cyber school credits. I only started putting more effort into my work last year and it shows.

Well then in that case, no. Don’t drop out of school to take an online curriculum. Colleges will steer away from you and besides, don’t you want the high school experience?

Let me clarify that, at my school you can’t take cyber school classes outside of school and get credit for it. :/

If you cannot get credit for it, I see no point in doing it.

In my state, Pennsylvania, home/cyber school kids are allowed to do clubs, sports, go to dances, at the closest public school, so I wouldn’t be missing out on those at all.

I would be getting credit for the classes online if I withdrew from public school.

-.- Colleges will have you weeded out by early march. YOur grades from the semester at cyber school wouldn’t help. And you will look like a wuss taking the easy way out.
