Should I take 5 AP classes senior year?

I’m currently a junior trying to make up my mind on what classes to take next year.
I want to take multiple AP classes to add more rigor to my schedule and get college credit,
but I’m worried my schedule will become too hectic.
Schedule (so far):
-AP English Literature
-AP Microeconomics
-AP US Government
-AP Calculus AB
-AP Chemistry
-Forensics
-Honors Human Anatomy/Physiology

I’m also concerned about my gpa, as it’s not the best due to freshman year.
Sophmore year I had all A’s (I had lots of regular classes), and this year I have all my grades above 95,
(all honors, 2 AP’s). Freshman year I totally slacked off (B’s and C’s) and ruined everything, but I’m truly motivated now and studious. So the main question is, will my schedule be too hectic?? Is this schedule manageable?(I even contemplated adding in AP STAT or BIO to the whole combo, but I picked Forensics because I heard it was an interesting, not so challenging class)

Take all the APs you can. Second semester, you won’t have as much pressure to get the grades and you can focus on learning (for me, they’re different things). It definitely looks good to max out senior year. Just make sure you get As first semester (which will probably take some work).

We don’t know you or your school, so we can’t say how hard these classes will be for you. As it stands now, this schedule doesn’t look very insane, but that honestly depends on your school. I would personally take AP Stats or Bio, but I’m not interested in Forensics and I’m going off of my abilities and my school.

Econ and gov are easy. Calc AB and Lit are pretty easy. Only chem is hard so your course load is fine.

Talk to your guidance counselor about this. Chances are he/she knows you better than any of us do.

My daughter is taking 7 AP courses this year (including 2 online/independent study). It can be done. But even 5 is not for everyone.

Even if your grades suffer a little, school admins want you to challenge yourself. Even if you aren’t planning on the Ivies, you can probably use this experience when you write your college essays - choose to write about how you overcame personal/family issues or whatever blah blah blah as a freshman, and grew into the person you are now, someone who wants to challenge yourself blah blah blah, now getting A’s and working hard because learning is important to you blah blah blah.

If you have a boyfriend, you might not want to take 5 AP’s if you really want to see him.

Good luck.
