your EC’s are lacking in leadership. and your GPA should ideally be within the top 10%. your SAT scores are pretty good though, provided you do as well as youre doing on practice tests

Hoyagolfer: I actually just started this year…but I’m planning to pad up my resume next year along with senior year. Hopefully.
mmaatt: Are you saying that I should be in the top 10% in order to get into Georgetown or is my GPA currently in the top 10%…I go to an extremely competitive public high school, so top 10% is extremely difficult for anyone.
For the leadership qualities, I’m an extremely involved Girl Scout, and am currently working on my Gold Award. I have over 250 volunteer hours from just the past year and a half. I also will have extremely strong teacher recommendations

@wiscoman2 I agree that your story is very incredible, and I do not understand why you got rejected from Georgetown. However, just because you didn’t get in, doesn’t mean that dagryffindor won’t. Her scores aren’t horrible, and being editor and chief shows excellent leadership skills. Colleges such as Georgetown are known for there unpredictable ways so if dagryffindor wants to try to get in to Georgetown i think she should definitely try her best to achieve an acceptance letter!

If you don’t have a lot of extracurriculars (i.e., diversity), try to elaborate on the ones you have. Explain your role, how essential you are to the programs, etc. Just my two cents.
