Should I take ACT or just concentrate on SAT?

All the UC's I'm applying to have either SAT or ACT required. Would it look any better if I actually took the ACT, or does it make little difference unless I had a better ACT score than SAT?

I'm just debating whether I should concentrate my last months prepping for SAT alone or both.

Just remember, either way you need the SAT II's.

I've taken the SAT II's once, and plan one more time in Dec.

Just wondering if schools like Calpoly, UCD, or UCSD would prefer to see ACT scores sent in as well?

Not really, they just look at the better of the 2. If you feel you may do better on the ACT, go for it. Otherwise, just prep for the SAT.

You might want to check out the formula for schools like UCSD. I wouldn't bother BEFORE you take it, but the SAT/ACT conversion chart seems trickier for UC than for other schools.

It really depends on which test you're more comfortable with.

Yeah, gotta agree with frutiaspice. How about you take a practise test for each, see which you score better in, and take the actual test for that one?

Alright, I've decided to concentrate on SAT I and II. =]
