I am planning on taking the June ACT. I know most colleges require the writing score from the ACT, but since I have already taken the SAT, I wondered if this still applied. (I plan on submitting both my ACT and SAT score anyway.)

My SAT scores were:
M: 770
W: 730 (10 essay)
CR: 660

Would taking the writing portion of the ACT be beneficial for me? I know I can write a 12 (on the SAT I was nervous and couldn't think straight) essay on the ACT. Would colleges see my 10 essay on the SAT and be content with that? Would they prefer a 12 ACT essay? I've heard that the only reason colleges want a writing score is to make sure you know how to write an elementary essay, in which case, I would think a 10 would be sufficient. But if a 12 on the ACT would aid my application, I would go for it. Any replies are greatly appreciated! :) :) :)
