Should I take ACT?

I’m a rising senior currently deciding on whether or not I should take the ACT this fall. I have taken three SAT’s so far, however my tutor has strongly advised me to take the Math 2 Subject Test in October meaning I would not get to take another SAT reasoning test before application deadlines. Here are my current scores.

SAT: 2000 composite (superscore)
570 CR
800 M
630 W

ACT: 28 composite (practice test)
24 E
32 M
29 R
26 S

I feel like I could definitely bring up that ACT score, the format of the english section kinda threw me off compared to the SAT, not to mention just fixing a few stupid mistakes and the math can easily become a 36. Is it reasonable to bring an ACT score up 2-3 points from your first practice test? I’d submit a 30 if it matches my 2000 just because my CR on the SAT is so low, but I’m not sure if it’s worth submitting if its below a 30.

It wouldn’t be a good idea to retake the SAT’s again, anyway–after three attempts, colleges start to get concerned. An ACT can be drastically improved from a first attempt; with enough prep, you could feasibly improve 2-4 points, and it seems you’re strong enough in math to ace that section for sure. Definitely attempt it–you could get a much higher score and it’s my belief that everyone should try each test at least once to see if one suits them better. Good luck
