I've heard some people saying a third subject test makes you look a lot better even though there's only a couple schools that require it (none of which I'm interested in). My current stats are as follows
SAT: 2320 (one sitting)
Physics: 800
Math II: 800
Should I shoot for US History on the October date or am I better off just investing my time in extra curricular ventures? Another option I'm considering is the September ACT.

Wow, good job. I don’t think you need to take US History or the ACT by any means, you’ve already got the standardized test portion of your app pretty much maxed out in my opinion. If you’d enjoy it, I guess you could study US History and the ACT, too. But I think your time would be more well-spent on finding something you’re passionate about.

Yea that’s what I would like to think but with a lot of my friends opting for three subject tests I’m just not sure if it makes a difference :/

Having more subject test scores would be advantages for some schools. Most schools only interested in your 2 best scores. Unless a subject that is related to your intended major, I don’t think you should spend your time on a third subject test. It makes sense to take 3 subject tests together for economic reason. Since you have already received two 800 in SAT2 and 2300+ in SAT1, I don’t think any schools would turn you down because of the lack of an unrequired third subject test. You have more than enough prove of academic achievement. You should better spend your time on essays and filling applications.
