Should I take AP Bio in senior year?

AP Bio is a difficult class, especially at my school because the teacher is strict. I am very INTO biology and want to major in Bio or Bio-chem. I don’t even know if there will be AP Bio at our school because they need 20 stu to make a class, but they are offering it. Next year, I am taking AP Psych, AP Cal, AP Gov, and AP Bio-or APes. My sister has been asking her friends at UCLA, and most of them suggest I should not take it since it is difficult to pass the AP test and it does not count for my major.
I am planning to apply for UCs… is it bad on my college application if I apply for Bio major and don’t take it in high school when there is one?
AND VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION: I am fast learner and good at memorization. Do you think I will do well in college Bio classes without learning the background concepts in AP Bio first? I am afraid of staying behind.

Thank you!

Yes you should take Bio if you want to be a Bio major! You may not get credit, but you will prepare yourself for Freshman bio. Many other students will have taken it and you will be competing against them.
Also if you told me you wanted to major in Bio but didn’t take AP Bio I would wonder at your interest in Bio.

I have a situation, but I decide to play big  . I am taking it next year. Anyways, thank you.
