I have heard a variety of opinions, but I’m still not sure.
Assuming you have had an intro course in both, then it really does not matter. If you’re taking both, I would probably do Bio first, but it’s really personal preference. If it’s an either/or situation, choose the better teacher/the class that has the higher percentage of 5’s/any other parameter of your choice.
At my daughter’s school, bio first because chem and physics were more math heavy.
Speak to the Science chair, or the math chair in your school. Find out when your math courses hit the topics you’ll need for Chem.
You want to know the concepts you need, but not to have had too many years since you learned them.
Assuming you already took some sort of biology and chemistry, then the order probably doesn’t matter. If you didn’t take an intro Chem class, there are topics in AP Bio that requires Chem principles, though sometimes these topics are also included in the class.
You want to take Bio CHem, Physics and then an honors version of one of those.
I took bio 1H, chem 1H, then AP Chem, and am now in AP Bio. Having just taken AP Chem, the first section of bio is really easy. Couldn’t say the same if I had changed the order. If you recently took the intro honors prerequisite course, take that AP first. It’ll make it easier!
