Should I take AP Calculus BC?

Hi everyone. I am going to be a senior in high school and I am trying to finalize my schedule. I am planning on majoring in nursing, but I'm not completely sure yet. Otherwise it will probably sociology or psychology.

I want to know whether or not I should take AP Calculus BC. Last year I took AP Calculus AB and received college credit via dual enrollment, and I am taking AP Stats this year because I know for sure it is required. I am wondering whether I need to take Calc BC. I am not too fond of math and honestly want to take the minimum amount necessary to be a nurse. Do I need two years of calculus? Because if I do, I want to get it out of the way this year so I don't have to take it in college. Oh, and not sure it matters, but I am 95% sure I will be in state for college at University of Arizona. Thanks!

You can look at the calc requirements at the nursing school at UA. It is at least one semester of college calc at nursing schools that I’m familiar with. Some schools (not nursing schools necessarily) will give credit for calc only if you do BC and get a 4 or 5. Good luck with nursing. It’s a flexible career.

Can’t comment on whether or not you should take it however you should know that if you know Calc AB, the Calc BC AP test is a breeze. I took AB and did a “self-study” of BC aka my friend came over and taught me 2-3 BC concepts the night before the test lol. I left 2 of the 6 free responses completely blank and got a 5 on BC and a 5 on the AB sub score. The BC test is like 70% AB so…if you know AB it’s super easy to get a 5
