Hi everyone! I signed up for 5 classes for my senior year ( out of 7 possible ), and I’m constantly changing my choices…
I will definitely be taking:
- Senior Lit
- Digital Art 1/2
- ADV Physics
- ADV Spanish 4
- AP Calc AB
I have never taken any sort of Computer Science course…although I want to try it out. Though, I really don’t want to overload myself with another hard class.
Do you guys suggest I go for it or not?
PS - If anyone has taken AP Computer Science Principles 1 ( semester course ) - please let me know what the class/workload was like!
Thanks xx
What do you want to major in in college?
This is a good time to explore CS and see if it would be good for you
@BunnyX I hate to be a party pooper, but I would play it safe and not take AP computer science. You will already have your hands full with physics and calculus. I’ve seen too many kids freak out about a possible D or F in these classes jeopardizing their college acceptances to recommend taking the risk. If you are planning to go to CC instead of a 4 year university, then I say take the computer class. Otherwise explore non credit online CS courses to see if it’s something you might enjoy.
CS principles should not be that hard a course, and is suitable for non CS majors.
A non credit option would be to follow http://cs10.org which is the kind of college course that CS principles is based on.
