Should I take AP Eng Lit or Lang?

Hello! I'm a student who is moving to 11th grade this March.
Yep I am an International student, and where I from does not use English.

so, I found out that our school strongly encourages(no, actually mandatory) to listen AP English Lit or Lang.
The problem is, that my strength is not in English, but I want to study social science(more specifically PPE, which requires a lot of reading)

These are my questions,,,
1. What is the difference between AP English Lit/Lang?
2. Between lit and lang, what should I listen?
3. Should I take the AP test for this subject?
4. Is it true that most students who are in Ivy and study humanities or social science had listened/took the AP exam for AP lang/lit?

Thank you :)

AP Lang has a lot to do with different types of writing strategies (called rhetoric), like rhyming, alliteration, foreshadowing, satire, etc. You do a lot of identifying techniques and why writers use the words that they do. AP Lit is more about literature as a whole-- themes, analysis, truly understanding why we read and what we get out of each book. If you can get credit at your college you should take the test.
