should i take AP Environmental Science APES?

hey every1
everybody says that APES is an "easy" AP
but I looked on college board at the statistics, and about 8.9-10.4% of people who take the test get a 5
and 24.9 to 22.6% get a 4
I compared these stats to other ap's, and APES doesn't seem very easy anymore...
should I still take it? :-/
thanks! ^____^

While I haven’t taken the course yet (I plan to next year), I can offer my thoughts as to why. A lot of the “easy AP” courses have low pass rates because people who wouldn’t ordinarily take AP courses take them, and probably end up underestimating them in some way (Ex: APES, AP Psych, AP Art History). I would suggest that you look for released APES exams or practice exams like the 2008 audit and see what you think for yourself. You could also read through an APES review book.

Thanks! that makes a lot of sense!

No problem :)

Hi mercury! Also, in some schools, the APES class actually is not that easy. For instance, at my school, the homework we get can sometimes be overwhelming. If you treat it like any other AP Science, then you’ll do just fine :)

I am in the class this year. The class is incredibly easy and the test is simple by the looks of it. Its also a very fun and interesting class, I most definitely recommend it

If you have an interest in the material, I think it is an extremely easy course. It relies on current topics and is easily applicable to situations that are going on all over the world right now.
