Should I take AP Environmental Science?

So I’m a rising junior and trying to figure out what classes I should take my senior year.
This year I am enrolled in:

Jazz band
Latin V Honors
AP US History
AP English Lang+Comp
Pre-Calc Honors
Anatomy/Physiology Honors
AP Chemistry

Last year I took AP Biology, loved it, and scored a 5 on the exam.
I also took AP Latin and got a 4, but that doesn’t matter as much.

My senior year I think I am going to take:

Economics/Personal Finance Honors/Duel Enrollment
Jazz Band
AP US Government
AP Calc AB
AP Physics C
AP English Lit

Leaving room for one more. I’ve been told that my senior year my school will begin to offer AP Env Sci and I think that would be really cool to take! My AP Bio teacher who i liked would probably teach it.

However, I am on the varsity swim team and involved in many other activities, do you think it’s worth it to have the extra work?

I am interested in doing something STEM related in college, so APES would make sense. Is the class hard? Will it be too much for me?

Top choices for college are probably UVA and William and Mary
Reach school is probably Duke but i haven’t thought about any of that too much.

Please give me your advice!

APES is fun and relatively easy, I took it as a Sophomore and really enjoyed it. It was easily manageable for me then, you will not find it to be a time-suck. I’d say go for it!

I’ve heard it’s one of the easier AP classes. My daughter took it as her first AP class and enjoyed it also. She likes science and we, her parents, work in natural resource careers, so she was familiar with a lot of the issues discussed in the class from being around us all her life, lol. I’d take it if you are sincerely interested in the subject, not just to have another AP class. I don’t think that adding APES will make a difference in your admission prospects as your transcript will show a very rigorous courseload with or without it.

My acquaintance is taking IBES but not hard she told.
