Should I take AP Lit?

So, I've been going back and forth between taking my high school's normal English course and AP lit for senior year. I'm doing fine in AP Language (B+/A- for Trimesters 1 and 2), but I'm concerned AP Lit would bring down my unweighted and wouldn't exactly benefit me. On the other hand, I'm concerned that colleges would look at it like I hadn't taken an opportunity for a tougher class (even though my intended major has nothing to do with english)
Should I take it? Is it tough? Keep in mind, I probably wouldn't take the exam (my family has almost zero money to dispense on that kind of stuff but not so little that we qualify for financial assistance)

If you take the AP Lang exam and pass it, then you usually don’t need the AP Lit credit unless you are going to be an English major, those classes are one and the same almost. The class itself depends on the teacher. Ask around and get a feel for how hard the teacher makes the class, see what the average grade is. If you are getting a B+/A- in AP Lang, you should be able to get at least a B in AP Lit if you put in the effort and teh teacher isn’t ridiculous.

It’s harder than AP English Language. No, it will not benefit you. The ones who benefit from the class are those who naturally enjoy literature. Unless you enjoy literature or think you are great at English, you should not take AP English Literature.
