should i take ap physics 1 (part 1 of algebra-based physics) as a sophomore?

That’s a question for your guidance councilor and science teachers. None of here are going to know (unless there happens to me a random HS Physics teacher with a college bound child) since none of us has actually taken the new AP Physics 1.

Well I am currently taking AP chem, AP bio, and AP physics b… (none of it is that self-study bullcrap. I have 5 periods of science every A day and 4 periods every B day). I don’t know about your school, but I can’t handle the large volumes of studying, homework, and labs that come with all three AP science classes. It honestly depends on how much homework you get in the rest of your classes sophomore year. Ask all of your older friends enrolled in the classes you are going to be taking and see how much homework they get on average. Colleges DON’T CARE if you take two sciences. As long as you are comfortable knowing how much effort it is going to take with two AP sciences and the rest of your schedule, do it.
