Should I take AP Physics B right now?

So I was thinking of becoming a Computer Science Major, and I hear that most engineering schools require/recommend Physics. For my senior year, I have not taken AP Physics B. I am currently taking BC Calculus and I will plan to take AP Comp Sci online. However, I'm not sure whether it is necessary to take Physics as a course. If it helps, I'm in the Diploma Programme for the IB and I am doing my Extended Essay on Physics. But that has only helped me to understand a specific part about it. My school does not offer AP Physics C (which would go perfectly with my BC Calc class).

So should I take Physics B since it is algebra-based???

Take AP Physics C. If you have a solid background in calc, you should be fine.

That’s a bummer your school doesn’t offer C. I took physics B last year and am taking C now. B was a tough class but it was very worthwhile. Odds are the college you go to if you major in computer science will not accept B credit but it is great background knowledge for future classes.
