Should I take AP Spanish?

hey everyone,

I got bad grades in my non - honor Spanish 1 class (70s and 67s). I did bad because the teacher teaches the class in a advance level and i'm just a beginner and everyone else is a naive speaker. I wants to show Cornell that i can do better. So i was thinking of studying the AP Spanish by myself. Is it a bad idea. My gpa is going to 4.0 by the end of my junior year, and my Spanish grade will be not average in, but it will be shown on my transcript. My EC's, rank, and etc are very strong.

so it a good idea to take AP Spanish?

If you are getting 60’s & 70’s in regular Spanish do not take AP Spanish.

what about sat subject test?

IMO the SAT spanish subject test is impossible to get 700+ even if you are decent at spanish (without self-studying). I’ve heard this is because all the native/fluent spanish-speakers take it so the curve is very harsh.
