My guidance counsellor told me that AP Calc BC has stuff to do with AP Stat, so she advises me to take them together so that everything is fresh in my mind. But I am not sure that’s entirely true. I kind of think that she just doesn’t want people to stray off of the suggested course progression. I was thinking about taking AP Stat while I take AP Calc AB, which would probably be less of a burden than taking it with BC. Help?
I took both AB and BC, and my friends have taken AB/BC and AP stats and from what they told me Calc BC and AP Stats are quite unrelated. There may be a concept or two that overlaps but for the most part they don’t correlate that much. I would just take stats with AB. BC isn’t all that difficult as 60% of the exam is AB material but you do go more in depth on certain topics so it can be more challenging.
Mine just took it as juniors, (with IB SL being that years math), they both said it was an easy AP. BC calc was senior year math. I don’t suppose it matters.
