So I am currently taking Statistics online at a local four-year university. I am fairly certain that the credit will transfer anywhere I go if I stay in state. But will taking the AP exam make it more likely that the credit will transfer if I go out of state, or is it just as likely to transfer either way? Also, will taking the exam affect my competitiveness as a college applicant?
Since AP Stats is not calculus based, most schools would at best give you GE credits or void credits. I think to answer the question it would be best to see what the individual schools will take. You don’t have to decide until February so you should already know which schools you have applied to by then.
No
it totally depends upon the college. Each sets its own AP credit policy, which has nothing to do with in-state v. OOS. I see no reason not to take the exam.
It seems like it could be helpful if you go out of state, so why not? If you don’t do well it doesn’t matter…you just wouldn’get credit from AP.
