Should I take AP World next year or senior year?

Hello all-
I am currently a sophomore in high school right now, and am taking Honors Government (school isn’t implementing AP Govt until next year, oh well). Next year, I’m for sure taking APUSH, but wonder if I should also double up on APWH also?

I want to major in history (or English) in college, so doubling up isn’t my concern here. I heard that they are changing the APWH exam for 2017, and have no idea if this is a good or bad change? Should I just take it next year so the exam stays the same, or should I wait until senior year to take APWH when they revise it? I haven’t taken any AP exams so have no prior experience to base my decision on.

AP World is challenging - I have no idea why many schools make this a Freshman or Sophomore course.
In my opinion, the later you take it, the better. Don’t double up on APUSH and APWH either.

I know you said doubling up is not your concern, but it probably should be. Undoubtedly you will have tests and research papers in both classes at the same time.

The changes to the course are minor; the real change is that the exam structure will be more like the other 2 history tests. I’m not sure the change to the test should be the determining factor for when you take it.

As someone who’s taken both classes(World as a Soph, US as a Junior), I can tell you it’s a bad idea to take both classes at the same. There’s a lot of reading in both classes, and none of it overlaps until the very end and as @skieurope stated above there will be a ton of writing to do.

Take World senior year, hopefully the new test will involve properly worded and relevant FR questions.

AP is not rated on 800 robbie.

Don"t take APWH and APUSH at the same time. Take one each year.

Wait to take ap world. Doubling up be too much and ap world is a more enjoyable class to finish high school with.
