Should I take Beginner's French?

I go to a community college. At first I didn't want to take French here (although I took 3 years of AP French in high school w/ A's) because I was interested in learning a different language. Now, I realize I like French enough and will probably take it wherever I end up going. My question is, should I take it yet.

All that is offered at my CC is Beginner's French and Intermediate French. I'll be honest and say, though I got great grades, I don't know the language. As with any language, you have to use it to remember it and we didn't even speak it all the time in class, so I'm not comfortable enough to take Int. French yet. But Beginner's French sounds so weak. Will that look like a blowoff class, in which case I should wait until I get to a university, or should I take it anyways? I will take it with honors if I do so...

Does your CC offer a placement test? If so, take it and see what level of French you would place into. Often they want to keep people with any background in a language out of the first class, so intermediate might end up being a better place for you.

thx i think it says that in the course description i'm sure i'll bomb it
