I took Honors Bio in freshman year (currently soph.) and slacked A LOT.. I ended up with a 84 final grade, yeah I know I suck at life. This year I have Honors Chem and I will probaly take AP Chem next year then AP Bio in senior. But the thing is I want to major in biology or go into a 7 year dental program so I'm considering doing a bio class in cc so colleges will see that my knowledge in bio is actually better than a C student... should I do it?

Also do you think it will be beneficial for me to try and shadow/work for a dentist. Or like volunteer at a dental clinic instead of a nursing home?

An 84 is a C? Most places it's a B...

yep, 100 - 93 is an A and 85 - 92 is a b in my school.

Do you want to take the class at a cc so you'll be better prepared for AP bio? If so, go for it. If you are doing it in place of AP bio, make sure you check policies of schools you are interested in. We attended a Duke/Penn/Georgetown reception where the kids were told they all prefer to see kids take AP class rather than take it at a cc (if AP class is offered).

It would be good to shadow a dentist if you want to. That will help you decide if you really want to be one! It doesn't hurt to show that you are interested enough to go over and above ... but I also don't think it's necessary. So many students who begin premed/predent don't actually finish in that program. I would think internships at dental clinics for low-income people, or internships in an ortho office, or something similar while actually in college would be a good thing, too --- you could mention your interest in doing that when you are applying. In other words, do it if you want & have time. If not, don't fret. It shouldn't hurt you.

Well, I want that grade to be able to be on my transcript when it is sent to universities. I can only take AP Bio in senior year. I'm going to apply to a university ed so yeah I thought it would look better if they see an improved grade in cc class next to the freshman grade.
