Should I take both the SAT Subject Test for Biology E AND Biology M?

I would say that I am proficient in both ecology and molecular biology. I am taking AP Biology this year (Junior year); first semester I got a 96 only because I slacked for the final (otherwise would have gotten a 98), and I have the same scores this semester as well. I know the AP Biology test and SAT Subject Biology test are different.

Is there any benefit to taking both the E and M tests, or is this stupid and would do me no good? If the latter, then is there a reputation difference between the two tests? Say, is M more difficult and my proficiency in the test would make me look better than my proficiency in the E test?

Assuming that the college does not require all scores, you can take both to see which one you score higher on. However, you can’t take both on the same date. You won’t want to submit both either, since the college will want to see different subjects; it would be like sending both M1 and M2.

Colleges will not care which one you take. While some might think that one is harder than the other, I really think it would be dependent upon the student.
