I am currently a sophomore at a top 15 uni and I basically took calc just to have the background knowledge although it's not required at all in my major or minor (minoring in econ btw). for the first exam the average was a 130 and I got a 120.
For the next exam, I feel slightly more comfortable with the material and my professor has this policy of dropping the first midterm if your second midterm is better.

my gpa is currently a 3.18 and i REALLY need to show some improvement this semester because I am applying for a study abroad program in the spring that wants to see some improvement. um i am also doing research over winter break so i wont be able to take a class to boost my gpa.

anyway, does taking a class pass/fail look bad? i would hate to mess up my gpa with a b, c etc with a class that i dont nec. need.
