<p>Colleges want to see applicants who have challenged themselves in high school. After all, what the college is offering you, when they offer you admission, is challenge. You have to assume that those who rise up a take those challenges will continue to do so in college. Your chances of admission are much, much better if you reach out and challenge yourself. So take the calculus class and any other class (or activity outside the classroom) that challenges you.</p>
