Should I take it P/NP?

So, I'm an intended psych major, and I took psych 1 at a community college before coming to Cal. That was about 2 years ago, so I decided to take psych 1 again as a refresher over the summer as an online class at Cal. I got lazy and fell behind so I'm wondering if I should take it P/NP? I got an A on the last psych class so this new grade won't count toward my GPA, but would it look bad on my transcript if I have a P for a basic class counting toward my major?

Thanks in advance.

What grade do you think you’ll get if you take it for a letter grade?

Generally, departments do not like the idea of taking courses for your major P/NP.

@sing: I really don’t know what grade I’ll get. The midterms are surprisingly hard, contrary to popular belief, so I don’t even know what to expect for the final.

@ucbalumnus: Yeah, I know, but I’ve already taken psych 1, so that’s already been counted as major course. I’m retaking psych 1 to refresh my memory.
