ok, ive been studying for the SAT alot latley, figuring that would be the only test i take (along with the SAT II's), but my mom recently asked why i wasnt going to take the ACT.
And i actually dont know, not alot of kids take it down here, so i just figured i wouldnt waste my time with it,
is it worth wasting my time?
and does SAT prep at all prepare me for the ACT?
could i take it without prep and still get a high score?

Some students do well with prep, some without. My son took ACT without ACT prep at end of sophomore year and did very well. He had just started an SAT prep class and had attendend maybe 3-4 classes. I'm not sure if this helped him or not. He took the ACT early so we could plan a test taking strategy for the remainder of high school. Since he did so well on ACT's, he probably will not take SAT unless his PSAT score is in national merit range. Remember, ACT has score choice so you don't have to send your scores to colleges unless you want to. Also, most kids in our area take SAT instead of ACT.
