Should I take it?

Hi everyone,

I am a senior in California and I haven't taken the SAT yet.

I am aware that today is the last day to register (w/o extra fee) for the October SAT.

The only thing that I am hesitant about is the fact that I have not prepared for the test yet. I am an excellent student but I am aware that this is not enough to succeed on the SAT.

I am aiming for 2200+ - my question is: should I take it now or should I register for the november test date so I can study more?

Thank you so much everyone! Any input will help.

Well, you do need to take it. You really should have planned this out earlier because November is the absolute last month to take it if you are EAing or EDing any schools, and if you are you won't be able to know what the score is until much later, after you've applied.

Perhaps you could sign up for a prep class now and take it Nov, I think there's still time.

Why not sign up for both? And cancel the november date if you're satisfied with your october score.

Take a practice test tonight to see how you'd do. There's a free one on review.com. Since you're in California you could probably get it done without rushing before the end of the day.

I can't remember if there's a practice essay section, but if so, just skip it.

i've decided to go for the november sat date. imo, there is not too much benefit on taking it in october, since i'm planning on taking the test only once.

oh and btw im not applying for any early action or early decision

harvard is a good role model

actually - i am taking the test in october. i forked out the late fee tho - wish i had made my decision earlier :P
