Currently,
I am a sophomore at a pretty good private university
I have a 3.6 GPA
28 credits
Political Science major
I am looking to transfer over to the flagship public university in my state for several reasons. I.E, costs, program value, amount of classes being available (which is why I don’t have 30 credits and why I am only taking 13 now)
I looked at Transferology to get an idea how my credits would transfer and it was telling me that the current political science class that I am taking will most likely count for nothing. However, a class I am trying to get into now would count for my major.
My question is, would it be okay if I took only 10 credits if for whatever reason I could not get into the politics class at my current university? I know I will get into the school that I am applying to and I’m planning on doing summer semesters anyways. Do colleges take credits taken in the semester (not credits required to transfer) into consideration even if I have a pretty good GPA?
I simply don’t want to waste my time taking this class if It won’t even transfer. Especially, since the class is incredibly demanding.
