I am currently in a year long Macro/micro course. I am considering taking both AP’s. How much would this actually help me in college admissions? Should I focus only on one?

That’s like ap calc ab vs bc, take one or the another. Both would be ludicrous

^No it isn’t. Calc AB and BC share 60% of the exam, calc AB tests on calc 1, calc BC tests on calc 1 and calc 2, and they provide an AB subscore for BC. Macro and micro are just two different tests. You should try and take both

Do colleges really care if you take both (for admissions)?

What are you talking about? You do realize that AB and BC share a common letter, indicating that there is overlap in the exams. That’s not the case for economics. Yes, it is best you take macroeconomics before microeconomics, but that is not to say that you can’t take both exams the same year and do well. My school offers the course as a year long only, meaning we take macro first semester, micro second semester and both the AP exams.

biker77: the conventional wisdom on this site is that colleges don’t give AP scores a second thought, though I have my doubts.
