So I signed up for the June SAT II for math 1, not realizing at the time that no colleges would look at it. I am signed up for lit and US history, which I am sure I can do decently on. However, I feel like math 1 would be a waste of time and my nine dollars, even if I do well, so I am thinking about taking a different one instead. The only problem is that I'm not very well-prepared for any other tests. I have forgotten all of my chemistry and physics, my biology class is a joke, and I haven't taken Spanish in a year. I am considering just winging math 2 even though I haven't taken precal yet since I am really good at algebra and geometry. Would this be a bad idea? I'm planning to take math 2 and Spanish in October anyway because I am taking summer courses in both.

Should I just attempt math 2, take math 1, or cancel the test and wait until October?
Will colleges still judge my math scores harshly if I am not applying for a math-related major?

Don’t take math 2 without pre calc. Math 1 is probably not a good idea if you’re applying to the higher end colleges…you’re right in thinking that most colleges would not look at it. I would wait until October (3 tests in one day is brutal anyway). Probably a better idea to separate them a little.

Probably shouldn’t take it without pre calc.

you definitely need pre calc for it. you don’t have to take every test you sign up for though.

Yea, I would just second what dancer said. Just take lit and ush on june 6 and math 2 in october. Although is it really true that colleges don’t look at math 1?

I already signed up and paid 9 bucks for a third test. Should I just blow it off or take math I for the hell of it?

Curseittohades- I’m in the same position as you are. I’m considering just reading a prep book hardcore. . .

On test day, you choose the tests you truly want to take. In theory, it doesn´t matter which ones you chose previously, but you can choose up to three on test day…

^ exactly. trust me, you CANNOT make up for a year of trig in two weeks. don’t try! you can take something else if you feel you could, but it won’t be worth your time to take the test when you might only be able to do half of it.

But it won’t hurt me to take math 1, right? Just some places won’t count it? I’m planning to take math 2 in October anyway after my summer trig course.

I don’t think that all schools won’t take math 1. Most ivies take math 1 and do not stipulate that they even prefer math 2 so i don’t think it could really be viewed that negatively. Math 2 is just more advanced so more useful to/common competitive schools.
