Should I take my college calc class pass/fail?

pass/fail means that the grade will be covered..you receive a grade of an S if you get a C- or higher and it will not count towards your GPA.

right now I am only in 4 classes for a total of 13 credits. if i take calc pass/fail i will only have 9 graded credits. will this look bad??
I dont need calc at all but I am taking it to better understand econ..which is part of my major. so calc is an elective for me.
for the first test i was about 10 points below the average...not bad for me haha. but idk what should i doo?? i dont want to get a bad grade in the class and then have it count on my gpa...although in calc 1 i got a C+ surprisingly with very little effort. im actually trying this time and im liking calc 2 a bit better

Do you have any scholarships or financial aid? If you do, most of that is contingent on you being full-time at 12 credits. So taking it as pass/fail might revoke that and could cause a messy situation. That’s something to consider, especially if you wouldn’t be able to get those scholarships/aid back if you lose it.

Also, if you passed Calc 1 before, do you think you could pass Calc 2? Since you’re just taking it for the pure interest of it, maybe you could let your passion help you achieve? I know this sounds clich

Ummm, don’t economics majors have to take a year of calculus at least, and typically for a letter grade?

Where are you going to school that calculus is not required for an Economics major? My son is an Economics major and he has to take two semesters of calculus as well as statistics.

Pass/fail is for credit, assuming you pass.

If a course is likely to damage your GPA, then pass/fail is a great option.

Many colleges have restrictions on taking classes pass/fail if they are required for your major. Therefore, it is important that the OP figure out whether he is eligible to take the class p/f. I have never heard of a school that does not require calculus for Economics majors.
